Our Story

We began this journey of renovation, styling and discovery in 2020.

My name is Sara, and I have worked for many years as a respiratory physiotherapist in intensive care, in the UK, New Zealand and Western Australia. As an escape, I have always loved creating homes by working with fabrics, refurbishing furniture, making and painting...
Finding this beautiful place gave me an outlet to do all of the things I love, whilst working closely with my husband to create a place to breathe, relax, and unwind.

We also
own and run La Patisserie, a small café on Mends Street in South Perth. (hot tip: if you ever visit...try the almond croissants!)

We bought the property in 2020, with a view to retiring here one day. Nige, my husband, has some trade skills so over the following year we were able to do most of the renovation work ourselves; adapting the plan as new ideas formed, and as we found second hand treasures to integrate into the design.

The house is a mix of new and old, inspired by my English roots, and the beauty of our surrounds. It's an eclectic mix; with much of the furniture, windows and doors re-used and re-purposed.

We hope you enjoy Cape Rendezvous as much as we do.

We have put possum boxes in some of the trees to provide a home for the endangered local Western Ringtail Possums. You might be lucky and see some in the evening...
